CECIL T. MASSIE and Derek E. Miller co-founded 6Solutions, LLC, in 2005. 6Solutions assists fledgling technologies, start up technologies and operating technologies in the areas of renewable raw material, renewable energy and agriculture, and in water processing for reuse. Specifically 6Solutions brings knowledge of process, design, equipment, alternative technologies, and commercialization, including working with our clients to arrange financing, resulting in economic rewards for the client.

Cecil Massie is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin in chemical engineering (1971) and a registered professional engineer in the state of Minnesota.

For over 35 years, Mr. Massie has held positions in research, process development, new plant construction and operations management. Mr. Massie has 4 US patents issued with additional patents pending. Mr. Massie’s experience includes work in pharmaceuticals, food and food ingredients and ethanol/renewable energy.

Mr. Massie is currently Executive Vice President and co-founder of 6Solutions, LLC. 6Solutions was founded to develop renewable energy projects as a means to rural economic development and to seek solutions to air and water pollution while preserving the ecosystem of the Midwest. Mr. Massie has led the development of renewable energy projects in the areas of biomass gasification, manure management and energy production with several major projects now in startup or planning.

Significant projects developed and designed by Mr. Massie include the following:

  • Wheat starch/wheat gluten processing facility in Keokuk, Iowa
  • Modified starch plant in Keokuk, Iowa
  • Vitamin/Mineral Blending and Packaging Facility
  • Animal/Vegetable oil deodorizer using novel stripper column

  • Anaerobic digester with biogas refinery to pipeline quality natural gas
  • Wood waste gasification combined heat and power plant at corn ethanol plant
  • Electrolytic hydrogen plant at Morris, Minnesota
  • Small scale ammonia plant

DEREK E. MILLER and Cecil T. Mr. Miller brings his more than 35 years of experience with Beacon Resources Corporation to the technologies 6Solutions pursues, and where Mr. Massie is a nationally recognized expert.

Mr. Miller is the CEO of Beacon Resources Corporation. Beacon assists companies of small to medium size in the United States and abroad to value and structure, financings, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, imports, and exports.

In the United States Mr. Miller works extensively with managements to assist them to be successful in the operation of their businesses, and their financial returns. Mr. Miller also assists these owners and officers to design a program for progression to their desired goals. Mr. Miller has worked with railroads, brush manufacturers, patent holders on value realization, medical, fast food, energy, and synthetic oil companies, to name a few. Mr. Miller has worked on projects in the fields of food and agriculture; including grain handling, feed mills, flour mills, bakeries, and vegetable oil facilities. Additionally, he has worked with many start up companies assisting in their organization and the management of their growth.

Mr. Miller has served as the founder, president and/or director of several companies, both public and private. His background includes corporate finance on Wall Street with Jesup and Lamont, Inc. and company lending with Citibank. Mr. Miller is a graduate of The American Institute of International Finance and Trade, has an undergraduate degree in Economics, and has substantial credits toward a graduate degree in Accounting from New York University Graduate School.

Mr. Miller was the advisor to the President of Iowa Pacific Holdings, LLC a company owning three railroads in the Southwest. In addition to the three railroads held by Iowa Pacific Holdings, Mr. Miller assisted the company in the valuation, acquisition negotiations and financings of other railroads and acquisitions. The largest acquisition pursued by Iowa Pacific Holdings was $150,000,000.

Internationally, Mr. Miller has worked with all levels of government and business/agriculture in many countries, including Mexico, Venezuela, Russia, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Georgia, The Czech Republic, Moldova, and Slovakia, on starting up or upgrading their businesses, including financing buildings, equipment and working capital. He has written feasibility studies resulting in an estimated $100,000,000 in projects; the smallest of which was $500,000 and the largest over $40,000,000. He utilized the studies to help managements and governments obtain approval and assistance from both the public and private sector. He has worked with The Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs completing several studies, written a financing workbook approved by the NSA for Third World Countries, and has spoken at several international gatherings. He has participated with many corporations, investment groups, and governments, both in the US and around the world, in conducting feasibility studies and financing plans.
